*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Addictions Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those seeking help for addiction while working within a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient care. *Responsibilities* * Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and behavioral evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans. * Administer medications and treatments such as medication-assisted therapy (MAT), including opioid antagonists and other pharmacological interventions. * Monitor patient progress, manage acute pain, and respond promptly to medical emergencies with aseptic technique and critical care procedures. * Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and social workers to develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices and regulatory standards. * Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. * Educate patients and families about addiction, relapse prevention strategies, and available community resources for ongoing support. * Participate in case management activities, discharge planning, and coordination of long-term care or outpatient services as needed. *Skills* * Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or in behavioral health settings. * Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities including opioid replacement therapies and trauma-informed care approaches. * Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and patient tracking. * Expertise in medication administration, IV infusion, suturing, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care. * Critical care experience including ICU or trauma center background is highly desirable to handle complex cases effectively. * Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and diagnostic evaluation skills. * Excellent communication skills for patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and family engagement.
