Lin is looking for a Transportation/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Chicago office for the Summer of 2026. As an intern on our City Solutions Team, you'll gain the opportunity to immerse yourself in diverse infrastructure projects focused on multimodal transportation plans that support communities and transformational real estate developments. Our work includes diverse, high-profile projects around the country for public and private sector clients, and we meet our clients' needs through an interdisciplinary approach to planning and engineering. This internship is your chance to be part of a collaborative team where you can expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills through hands-on meaningful work.Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You Will DoConduct site visits, field observations to gather data and provide researchPerform traffic, pedestrian, parking and safety analysesEngage with the public and stakeholders to gather input and provide updatesCreate and develop maps, reports, presentations, and graphicsContribute to problem-solving efforts to address project-related issuesDraft and finalize detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendationsWhat You Bring to the TeamExceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear documentation and interacting professionally with clients and colleaguesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while also able to effectively collaborate in a team environmentStrong commitment to integrity, consistently demonstrating ethical, fair, and responsible behaviorCommitment to innovation and continuous learning, with a passion for acquiring new skills and driving improvementsYour Education and ExperienceWorking towards a Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design, or Public Policy Undergraduate Degree or related Graduate ProgramExperience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is requiredFamiliarity with traffic planning/analysis software (HCS, Synchro/Sim Traffic) and drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) PreferredAdditional InformationAt TYLin, we strive to create a supportive and enriching learning environment that empowers you to make an impact.
