Information Security Engineer

Primary responsibilities:The Information Security Engineer 1 Contractor will perform routine skilled work supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring activities designed to protect IT systems, services, and capabilities. Work security related Helpdesk tickets (whitelisting, stolen devices, etc.)Approve local software installationsPerform system health checksConfigure and monitor phishing campaignsInitial triage of potential IRs and maintaining lessons learned/action itemsMonitor vulnerabilities within the Tenable platformCollaborate with other IT teams to remediate low priority 3rd party penetration and vulnerability action itemsStay updated on the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving security postureAbility to create and track relevant metrics for continuous improvementAssist with monitoring and management of key fob requestsMonitor and assist with security platform alerts (Varonis, Taegis, etc.)Assisting with security agent rolloutsAssist with light security project effortsRemediate low priority Security Score Card findingsAssist with general tuning of tools and troubleshooting break/fix related to toolsCreating and updating documentationThe candidate will be working with various security tools and vendors (subject to change): Microsoft Azure/O365, Meraki firewalls, Zscaler, Microsoft Defender for Endpoints, Carbon Black Protect, SIEM tools Qualifications:3+ years of information technology experience required, 1+ Information Security technology preferredGood hands-on knowledge of Windows workstations and/or serversExperience with IT Infrastructure componentsExposure to security concepts and toolsSecurity+ Certification a plusSkills required:High level of professionalismDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical skillsProficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of security software applications and tools.Ability to communicate effectively and efficientlyAbility to work independently and/or as a team to meet delivery deadlinesOrganized with attention to detail
