As Field Systems Manager, you’ll be the person who makes those systems reliable, usable, and trusted — especially during acquisitions, when getting it right quickly matters most. Your work directly enables service centers to operate smoothly, leaders to trust the data, and newly acquired teams to feel supported instead of disrupted.What Success Looks LikeYou’ll own how our operational systems actually get used — not just how they’re configured. In your first 90 days, success means field teams are using Cargas consistently, data issues are proactively identified instead of discovered after the fact, and at least one acquisition or system improvement project is clearly moving forward with minimal friction for operators.What You’ll Actually Do in Your First 30 DaysLearn how our service centers use Cargas day‑to‑day by reviewing workflows, data standards, and common support issuesBuild relationships with field leaders, Accounting, IT, and existing vendors to understand where systems help — and where they slow people downAudit current data quality in Cargas (customers, tanks, pricing, inventory) and document priority cleanup or standardization opportunitiesReview existing SOPs and Zendesk knowledge articles, identifying gaps or outdated documentationWhat You’ll Own Day‑to‑DayOperational Systems OwnershipServe as the primary owner and subject‑matter expert for Cargas and integrated field systems (fleet, fuel cards, cameras, etc.)Translate real operational needs into system configurations that improve accuracy and efficiencyLead testing and validation for twice‑yearly ERP upgrades and system enhancementsTroubleshoot issues alongside vendors and internal teams, prioritizing problems that impact field operationsAcquisition & ERP IntegrationLead ERP onboarding for newly acquired companies, from data mapping through go‑liveCoordinate migration and validation of customers, tanks, pricing, inventory, and vendor dataPartner closely with operations and accounting to ensure continuity during system cutoversTraining, Adoption & SupportCreate and deliver practical training (webinars, job aids, on‑site support) focused on real workflows, not theoryTravel to service centers to observe system usage and reinforce best practicesMaintain and improve SOPs and knowledge articles in ZendeskData Quality & Process ImprovementProactively monitor data integrity across systems and resolve discrepancies before they become operational issuesUse operational data to surface improvement opportunities in routing, pricing, forecasting, and inventoryLead special projects tied to system optimization and operational scalabilityMust HaveHands‑on experience supporting or administering an ERP system in an operations, distribution, or field service environmentExperience leading or supporting system implementations or data migrations (acquisitions strongly preferred)Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, accounting, IT, and vendorsStrong working knowledge of operational data and how it impacts real‑world executionWillingness to travel to service centers (approximately 25–35%)Nice to HaveExperience with Cargas ERPFamiliarity with fleet management or fuel card platforms (e.g., Fleetio, Comdata)Basic accounting or financial systems knowledgeAdvanced Excel or reporting skillsExperience building SOPs or training programs for non‑technical usersBachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related fieldCompany CultureWe’re a practical, collaborative team that values people who make systems easier to use — not more complicated.
