Culinary Development Leader Back Home Hospitality (BHH)San Francisco Bay Area | Reports to Executive Chef & Co-Owner David Nayfeld About the RoleBack Home Hospitality is seeking a senior culinary leader to own culinary standards, R&D, and execution quality across our portfolio of chef-driven restaurants. This role is responsible for setting and maintaining high-level culinary standards while ensuring those standards are consistently executed in restaurants and offsite events. This is a hands-on, kitchens-first role for a chef with a fine-dining foundation, strong technical judgment, and the ability to step into service when needed to protect quality and consistency. Core ObjectiveDefine, elevate, and maintain culinary standards across all BHH concepts, ensuring excellence in execution across restaurants and events. Key ResponsibilitiesSet and uphold culinary standards across all concepts while preserving brand identity. Lead recipe development, R&D, and seasonal menu evolution. Ensure recipes are clearly documented, technically sound, and executable at scale. Conduct tastings, kitchen walkthroughs, and quality audits. Lead, mentor, and develop Chef de Cuisines and senior culinary leaders. Step into kitchens as needed to support service, transitions, or high-volume periods. Support and help lead offsite culinary events to ensure standards translate beyond the restaurant. Partner with Operations and Finance to align menus with quality, cost, and feasibility. Uphold food safety, sanitation, and BOH organization standards. Success Looks LikeConsistent execution of high culinary standards across restaurants and events. Strong, repeatable menu rollouts and seasonal updates. Elevated consistency in technique, seasoning, and presentation. Retention and development of strong Chef de Cuisines. Positive guest feedback tied directly to food quality. Experience & QualificationsRequired 10+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience. Fine-dining training and background.Experience leading standards across multiple kitchens or concepts. Strong recipe development and technical execution skills. Hands-on leadership style; comfortable supporting service and events. Preferred Corporate Chef or Culinary Director experience Founder-led, chef-driven restaurant group background. Experience with offsite events, catering, or special projects.
