Content to be monitored may include news bulletins, current affairs programs, magazine programs, multimedia reports , and debate programs. The content could be produced for any of the following platforms: radio, television, Facebook, YouTube, websites.Monitoring reports will focus on qualitative assessments of the media outlets’ ability to meet standards of professional journalism and whether the content meets the needs of its audience.Consultants will work remotely and are not required to be in a specific location during this consultancy.. IREX anticipates awarding initial consultancies for a period of 3 months, from October, 2022 through December, 2022, with the potential for extension at IREX’s discretion. Candidates must be willing and able to commit to the full periodDuties And ResponsibilitiesConsultant will analyze and provide reports on radio, television, and online media content of IREX’s partner media outlets using a reporting template to be provided by IREX.Consultant will participate in feedback sessions on the reports they produce with IREX, discussing the content of their reports at the request of IREX.LEVEL OF EFFORTUpon receiving a monitoring assignment, IREX and the consultant will agree on an estimate of time required to complete the duties described above.Skills And ExperienceMinimum of ten (10) years of experience working in a journalistic capacity in a broadcast and/or online newsroom setting with some experience at senior editorial or editorial-management level requiredMinimum of five (5) years of experience in media monitoring and evaluation preferredExperience working in political transition and post-conflict environments is preferredExperience working in the MENA (Middle East/North Africa) geographic region is preferredExcellent communication skillsAdvanced or Native fluency in Arabic is requiredExcellent English-language written skills required Ability to work under pressureAttitudesA strong commitment to the success of IREX partnersTO APPLYPlease apply via the IREX website with a resume and a cover letter that includes a daily rate.
