The Maintenance Handyman is responsible for the daily upkeep, light maintenance, and basic repairs of the building’s facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents. This is a part time position working Saturdays and Sunday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete service requests in a timely and professional mannerDaily tasks such as pressure washing, cleaning windows, ensuring pool furniture and umbrellas are clean and available for residents' useExterior upkeep--ensure walkways, elevators, pool area are free and clear of debrisMaintain common areas (lobby, hallways, amenities, parking garage, etc.) in clean and operational conditionRespond to building emergencies Assist with vendor coordination for specialized repairs or servicesEnsure tools, inventory, and maintenance supplies are well-stocked and properly storedFollow all safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred1-2 years of maintenance or building operations experience (residential or commercial)Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred but not requiredAbility to perform minor carpentry/painting tasksStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in various indoor/outdoor conditionsAKAM is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and an inclusive work environment.
