Senior PHP Developer

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Software Engineer with strong PHP development expertise and experience building scalable business-critical applications. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting systems that power order processing, fulfillment operations, and customer-facing platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful software solutions.This role offers the opportunity to work throughout the technology stack, including backend services, APIs, databases, integrations, and occasional front-end development. Exposure to .NET technologies is beneficial, as the environment includes a mix of PHP and C# applications.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Design & DevelopmentDesign, enhance, and maintain scalable PHP-based applications using modern frameworks such as Laravel, or similar technologies.Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established engineering best practices.Contribute to system architecture, technical design discussions, and long-term platform strategy.Build and support APIs, integrations, and internal services that enable key business processes.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.Communicate technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.Collaborate in Agile development activities including planning, estimation, and sprint execution.System Performance & ReliabilityTroubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis for system incidents.Optimize application performance, database queries, and service reliability.Implement automated testing, monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.Support CI/CD processes and contribute to deployment automation efforts.Full-Stack EngineeringWork with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, as well as caching technologies including Redis.Contribute to front-end enhancements using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS when needed.Integrate third-party services and internal platforms through RESTful APIs.Provide occasional support and enhancements within a .NET/C# application environment.Continuous ImprovementDrive initiatives focused on code quality, maintainability, scalability, and developer productivity.Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools that can improve platform capabilities.Take ownership of features throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and ongoing support.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.4+ years of professional software development experience with PHP as a primary programming language.Strong experience with modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel, or comparable technologies.Proficiency in relational database design, SQL development, and performance optimization.Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services and APIs.Hands-on experience with Git-based source control, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
