World-changing ambitions, small excellent team, real urgency.The roleYou'll own revenue. That means setting the deal strategy, picking the targets, getting in the room, and closing. Not "managing a sales team" — being the closer until we've earned the right to hire more people. We need someone who has run B2B at scale, has a phone full of decision-makers at studios and publishers, and is ready to do the work themselves again. You'll report to the CEO and partner closely with product, engineering, and marketing.What you'll doSet revenue strategy and the deal pipeline from a running startOpen and close partnerships with major studios (film, TV, music), publishers (book, news, magazine), and creator consortiumsStructure deals that give partners real economic upside as AI reshapes their industries — licensing, revenue share, co-development, equity-for-accessSell the vision to executives who have heard every AI pitch and are exhausted by themBuild the playbook: pricing, term sheets, partnership tiers, success metricsOwn quota and forecast against itHire the first AE or partnerships lead once the model is provenWho you are10+ years in B2B partnerships, biz dev, or revenue leadershipClosed deals north of $1M with studios, publishers, labels, or major creator platformsHave a real network in the creator economy: music labels, film/TV studios, publishing houses, podcast networks, newsroomsComfortable with complex deal structures — IP, licensing, rev share, equity grantsRead the room: know when to push, when to walk, when to reshape the offerStrategic enough to set the three-year revenue plan; tactical enough to write the follow-up email yourselfBonus: you've sold into companies wrestling with AI disruption and know what actually moves themCompensationEquity plus aggressive commission. The commission plan is real money on closed revenue, structured to reward the people who build the early book of business. Cash base scales up at the next funding round. If you need a big base today, this isn't the right role yet — but the upside on equity and commission is meaningful.LocationBay Area, LA, or NYC preferred: that's where the publishing and studio partners are located.
