Mining Engineering Intern

As an intern/co-op with Cleveland-Cliffs, you will build life-long professional connections and have the opportunity to be considered for future full-time employment.The Mining Engineering Intern will be responsible for supporting the site Mine Planning and Engineering staff and completing several special projects and initiatives.Summary Of ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the design of the weekly, 30 day, 60 day, 90 day, and annual mine plansUsing data provided from the mine planning team and geological engineering team, design appropriate blast patterns for weekly dig plansObtain production data and track in mine plansConduct analysis of production data and present to operations and management staffMaintain weekly mining planUse drone-based photogrammetry data to create topographical maps of mine pitsConduct assessment of material moved using mine pit map updatesUse drone-based photogrammetry data to analyze blast swellsMake recommendations for future blast patternsParticipate in regular mine planning meetings with Engineering and site managementOther duties as assigned by the Mine Planning and Engineering staffMinimum QualificationsEnrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in the field of Mining, Mining Engineering, Mining Technology, or other related technical degreeCompletion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Cleveland-Cliffs is a leading North America-based steel producer with focus on value-added sheet products, particularly for the automotive industry.
