We partner closely with underwriting teams to produce accurate pricing analyses and loss estimates for reinsurance transactions. Our work ranges from analyzing large datasets to developing bespoke methodologies, all grounded in precision, expertise, and continuous improvement. We emphasize teamwork, learning, and innovation to adapt to evolving market dynamics.About the Position:Reporting within the actuarial team based in New York.Key Responsibilities:Compile, clean, and interrogate data from internal and external data sourcesPerform analysis and modelling for assumed per-risk and proportional submissionsUse RenaissanceRe pricing tools to price and represent risksCollaborate with the actuarial teams across the global casualty organisation and follow consistent pricing practices and approachesAssist on portfolio-wide and class-specific projectsCommunicate pricing results effectively to analysts and underwritersContribute to the mission of the organization by implementing its operational plans and strategies and advocating for its corporate values and cultureMonitor industry trends and deepen understanding of market characteristics using both proprietary and publicly available data.Candidate Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field.Expectation of, or currently active in, pursuing actuarial credential (ACAS, FCAS)Proficient knowledge of probability and statistics2-4 years of insurance industry experience preferred.Strong computer skills desired, in particular MS Excel and PowerBIProgramming knowledge desirable (e.g. R, Python, SQL, or VBA), with a focus on data manipulation and automationStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to different audiencesStrong analytical skills; problem-solving through a numerical, structured, logical approach and an ability to work under pressure and to meet challenging deadlinesAn ability to solve complex issues with pragmatic solutionsChallenges the status quo and identifies innovative solutions to solve problems and improve work processWe believe that meeting these requirements will position you for success in the role. The position is eligible for bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
