Senior Inland Marine Underwriting Specialist | Remote

Our client, a leading P&C Insurance Company, is looking to expand their Inland Marine and Specialty Underwriting Department by adding a Senior Inland Marine Underwriting Specialist. This person will underwrite a diversified book of inland marine business with a focus on Motor Truck Cargo, Builders Risk, and Contractors Equipment. You’ll partner with agents, brokers, risk engineers and claims to evaluate complex, high-value placements (e.g., contractors’ equipment, builders’ risk, and other construction risks).This person will also work closely with other members of the Specialty Underwriting team and Product Executive as they continue to enhance and expand their Inland Marine appetite.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and select risks that align with profitability goals by assessing exposures and matching appropriate coverage solutions.Oversee a portfolio of inland marine business, proactively identifying shifts in risk profile, claims trends, and overall performance metrics.Track production, retention, and profitability across new and renewal business, adjusting strategies as needed to stay on target with company goals.Build and maintain strong partnerships with agency partners and internal stakeholders through consistent communication and in-person engagement.Collaborate with other underwriters, actuaries, and product development teams to design and refine inland marine insurance products.Ensure that policies are comprehensive, competitive, and align with market needs.Qualifications:5 - 10+ years of underwriting stand-alone Inland Marine business.Strong territory management skillsStrong analytical and decision-making skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in underwriting software and tools.Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field is preferred.Strong communication, analytical skills, and business acumenExcellent problem solving & decision-making skillsSalary/Benefits:$130,000 - $170,000+ annual base salary plus 10 – 30% Target BonusAbility to work remotelyExtremely competitive Medical, Dental, Vision and Life plansEmployer matching 401(k) planGenerous PTO planEmployee Stock Purchase Plan with employer matching
