DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Level A Diesel Technician who can fully diagnose and repair Medium to Heavy Duty International Trucks.DUTIESDetermines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic test, identifying worn and damaged parts focusing on safety, quality, and customer up time.Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.Embrace training opportunitiesMaintaining certification in OEM productsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURESProvide technical service tovehicles and equipment. Including trouble shooting, electrical and diagnosticservices.Read Repair Order, observe andlisten to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan workprocedures.Perform general and detailed repairof all trucks, engines, and components.Overhaul gas or diesel engines.Install injectors, pistons, liners,cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fanhubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, change or recharge batteries, andreplace transmissions and other parts.Examine protective guards, loosebolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.Lubricate moving parts and driverepaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.Advise the Service Supervisor ifadditional repair work is necessaryTag all warranty parts and returnsto warranty clerk.Maintain a neat and orderly workingarea, and proper handling of company toolsFollow safe work practices andprocedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions forworking safely and seeks assistance when necessary.Attend training classes and keepabreast of factory technical bulletinsOther duties assigned by manager. •QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEHighschool diploma or GED is required. Combination of education, training, orexperience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will beconsidered.Relatedtechnical school training preferred.Threeto five years of commercial truck technical service experience.Enginecertifications preferred: Cummins, Detroit, International, etc.Necessarytools to perform job responsibilitiesAbilityto work and learn independently.Strongwritten/ verbal communication skills required.Abilityto use various windows-based computer software. Experience with engine softwarea plusValidcommercial driver's license preferred.
