Managing Partner – Aggregate Business Startup

Company Overview: We are a dynamic real estate development company that owns a significant property with an abundant supply of rocks and aggregates. As part of our diversification, we are launching a new business focused on extracting, processing, and selling these materials to concrete mixers, asphalt companies, and construction firms. To lead this new venture, we are seeking a seasoned General Manager and ManagingPartner with extensive experience in the aggregate industry. Position Overview: The General Manager / Operating Partner will be instrumental in establishing and growing our aggregate business from the ground up. This role requires a hands-on leader with over 10 years of experience in the aggregate industry, specifically in selling materials like rock, sand, and gravel to concrete and asphalt companies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the industry, strong relationships with key buyers, and the expertise to build and manage the business from its inception. Key Responsibilities: Lead the setup and operational launch of the new aggregate business. Develop and implement strategic plans for production, sales, and distribution of rock and aggregate products. Establish partnerships with key clients, including concrete mixers, asphalt companies, and other construction businesses. Manage the entire lifecycle of operations, from rock extraction to product sales and delivery. Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and P&L management for the startup business. Recruit, train, and manage a team to support operations, sales, and logistics. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and industry regulations. Identify new business opportunities and avenues for growth, such as expanding into related markets or products. Optimize operational processes to increase efficiency and profitability. Qualifications: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the aggregate or construction materials industry, with a focus on selling to concrete mixers and asphalt companies. Proven experience in building and managing a successful aggregate or construction materials business. Strong knowledge of the full supply chain, including rock extraction, processing, and distribution. Established relationships with key industry players in the concrete and asphalt sectors. Experience in managing budgets, financials, and operational KPIs for maximum efficiency and profitability. Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage a high-performing team. Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to the aggregate industry. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt and grow a new business. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in launching or managing a startup business in the aggregate or construction materials sector. Strong network within the concrete and asphalt industries.
