Overview
Individual must have 3-5 years of piping design knowledge and equipment layout. Accountability for safety, quality, budget, and schedule as it relates to project tasks. This individual interfaces with other discipline engineers within the Valdes organization.
Responsibilities
Knowledge within the Piping and Plant layout discipline with capabilities and the initiative to perform the following tasks with some supervisory/mentor assistance
Provide accurate detail piping design per project requirement in accordance with scope, budget, and schedule as assigned by project lead
Provide on-site field assistance as required per project assignment
Participate in 3D model design review
Provide design computations, piping estimates, isometrics, plans, sketches and bill of material
Provide information for inter-discipline coordination
Review design drawings for quality and accuracy
Participate in project meetings
Provide written or verbal design progress reports as required by project lead
Make recommendations to improve workflow process
Develop and /or improve department standards, including templates and design guides
Develop and maintain project drawing list
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma, Associates Degree or higher preferred
3-5 years of experience working in piping design and plant layout
Eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Technical Competencies
Ability to effectively resolve technical design problems
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D AutoCAD software
Ability to use design and/or CAD software to perform design tasks
Solid Microsoft Office experience
Ability to translate field and design sketches into detailed finished construction documents
Ability to provide piping layout for control stations, pumps, exchangers, drums and vessels
Knowledge of multi-discipline project design execution and construction methods

Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with clients and co-workers
Personable and able to easily work with others at all levels
Ability to handle difficult individuals and remain calm when employees or clients are confrontational
Extroverted personality, able to initiate and follow through on assignments with little coaching

Must be well organized and able to prioritize work
