Assistant Store Manager
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead store operations, manage staff, and deliver exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, retail expertise, and the ability to motivate and develop team members. As an integral part of our leadership team, you will support store objectives through effective supervision, inventory control, sales management, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning and high customer satisfaction
Lead and supervise staff, including employee orientation, training & development, and performance management
Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising strategies
Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS transactions with accuracy
Support sales initiatives by implementing marketing strategies, pricing adjustments, and promotional activities
Ensure proper store merchandising and stocking to maximize sales potential
Conduct interviewing and recruiting to build a skilled and motivated team
Monitor retail math metrics such as sales targets, budgeting, and inventory control to meet business goals
Maintain excellent communication with staff and customers via phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
Oversee shift management, scheduling, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Utilize management skills to foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork and leadership
Experience
Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery stores is preferred
Proven track record in retail sales management, inventory control, and customer service excellence
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience with POS systems, cashiering, purchasing, merchandising, and retail mat
Demonstrated leadership skills in team management, training & development, and employee supervision
Knowledge of budgeting, marketing strategies, stock management, and retail operations is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette and organizational skills
