All of our employees are vital in supporting this mission,read on to see how you can be part of it too!Job DescriptionAs a Connect Transit Full-Time Microtransit Operator you will provideexceptional customer service while transporting our customers to andfrom their destinations as requested through an online platform or app.You will provide this flexible service in a safe, professional,courteous, and timely manner. You will drive a van or minibus that wevefully trained you on so youre confident in all aspects of vehicleoperation and technology use, and the areas in which you are driving.Wages \$20.80 an hour Annual increases per Labor AgreementWhat We Offer ***Paid on the job training at Microtransit Operator rate*** Medical insurance: Connect Transit will pay 90% of employee premiumand 65% of dependent premiums. Dental, vision, life insurance Paid time off Paid holidays Paid birthday Retirement plans, employer contribution of 5% Tuition reimbursement available Uniform allowance Opportunities for advancement Free bus pass for employees and immediate family members A team atmosphere with Trainers, Supervisors, and coworkers who wantto see you succeed in your jobResponsibilities And Duties Safely drive your assigned on-demand vehicle and follow instructionson mobile device for pick-up and drop-off locations of customers Assist customers of varying abilities with boarding and exiting thevehicle, and securing mobility devices properly Provide excellent customer service for our customers under varyingconditions Perform daily vehicle inspections, report malfunctions and/orirregularities as needed Use a two-way radio or other assigned communications device tocommunicate with Dispatchers or Maintenance Collect fares from customers as required Complete required yearly trainings (Diversity/Inclusion in theWorkplace, Equal Opportunity, etc.) Other duties as assignedJob Requirements Minimum of three years driving experience Valid Illinois Drivers License High School diploma or GED Acceptable driving record (No serious traffic or license violationswithin the last three years) Pass background check Pass Department of Transportation Physical and pre-employment drugtest, and willingness to comply with federal drug and alcoholtesting requirements Ability to work independently, yet take verbal and written direction Ability to work as scheduled; schedules may include nights,weekends, early mornings, and/or split shifts Ability to confidently use mobile devices and applications Ability to interact with customers of varying abilities in afriendly, patient manner Ability to share knowledge about routes, stops, transfer points, andfare structures for all Connect Transit services Ability to follow all notification, trip details/schedule andinstructions listed in mobile tools for assignments, routing, andreporting Ability to crouch, kneel, and bend to complete vehicle inspectionsand assist customers Ability to assist passengers in mobility devices and their mobilitydevices board or exit the vehicle using a ramp (push/pull heavyweight)\* Connect Trans t provides equal employment opportunities to allemployees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination andharassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age,sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteranstatus, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any othercharacteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
