Job Description
Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures. Willing to use a shovel and run small equipment when needed.
Qualifications
One to four years of experience as a Concrete Finisher
Pre-employment alcohol, drug testing, and a background is a condition of employment
Must complete work accurately and follow all safety rules
Must be familiar with relevant hand and power tools
Able to work well in a team environment
Organized and self-motivated
General Requirements
Practice safety rules
Follow verbal and written instructions
Safe use of hand & power tools
Report to and assist immediate supervisor
Perform quality work as determined by project specifications
Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift
Functional Requirements
Spread concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency
Level, smooth, and shape freshly poured concrete
Finish concrete surfaces
Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes
Mold expansion joints and edges
Sprinkle stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce the prescribed finish
Produce concrete surface
Mix cement
Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms
Finish steps and stairways
Break up and repair old concrete surfaces
Mix and pour grout
Calculate the amounts of concrete required for each job
Picture objects from drawings and diagrams
Compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
Assist in installation of pipe and backfill as required
Physical Requirements
Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy
Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc
Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials (It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.)
Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
