Job Details:Lead Electrical Controls EngineerURGENTLY HIRING!OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Lead Controls Engineer to drive the design, development, and integration of advanced automation and robotic systems across manufacturing and process environments. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for owning projects from concept through commissioning, while mentoring engineers and setting technical direction.This position is ideal for a senior-level engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and can lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance automation solutions. You will play a key role in shaping system architecture, establishing standards, and ensuring successful project execution.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Project OwnershipLead controls engineering efforts across multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budgetDefine system architecture, controls strategy, and technical standards for automation systemsMentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineersReview and approve control system designs, code, and documentationDrive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and standardsCollaboration & Client EngagementPartner with mechanical, electrical, and project teams to execute system designsInterface directly with clients to define requirements, lead technical discussions, and resolve challengesProvide oversight for panel design, system layout, and integration strategiesLead design reviews, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activitiesEngineering & System IntegrationDesign, program, and troubleshoot complex control systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion, robotics, and vision systemsDevelop and standardize PLC/HMI code (Allen-Bradley preferred – Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)Integrate servo systems, VFDs, robotics, and machine vision platformsPreferred experience with:Vision systems: Keyence, Cognex, Fanuc iRVisionRobotics: Fanuc or similar platformsOversee system testing, validation, and performance optimizationEnsure compliance with safety standards and industry best practicesCommissioning & SupportLead system commissioning efforts both in-house and at customer sitesDiagnose and resolve complex issues across controls, robotics, and vision systemsProvide ongoing technical support and continuous improvement recommendationsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field3+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation integration, or roboticsPrior experience in a lead or senior-level role with project ownership preferredStrong background with major PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley strongly preferred; Siemens/Omron/GE a plus)Technical SkillsExpertise in PLC, HMI, and motion control systems (VFDs, servos)Experience with robotic programming and machine vision integration preferredStrong understanding of electrical schematics, panel design, and control system documentationFamiliarity with AutoCAD Electrical and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.)Advanced troubleshooting and hands-on system modification capabilitiesProfessional AttributesProven leadership and project management skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to lead client interactionsSelf-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness to travel (~30%) for commissioning and client supportWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation packageComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchGenerous PTO and flexible work environmentOpportunity to lead cutting-edge automation projectsCollaborative, growth-oriented engineering cultureApply TodayTo apply, please send your resume to: PD@LibertyJobs.comPatrick DelGaonePD@Libertyjobs.com#midsenior#engineering#Controls
