Title: Designer - Interior ConstructionDepartment: DesignFLSA Status: ExemptSupervisory Responsibilities: NoSummary:The Interior Construction Designer is responsible for designing and implementing demountable wall partition solutions from multiple manufacturers. This role supports projects from initial estimating and schematic design through specification and ordering of architectural wall systems, all tailored to client requirements.The Designer partners with the Sales team by providing design services that primarily feature DIRTT architectural wall products, as well as other product lines supported by COR. Additional responsibilities include coordinating electrical components, C.O.M. materials, custom hardware, and custom glass orders. The Designer also serves as a technical resource, making design decisions, answering product-related questions, and ensuring interior construction requirements are accurately defined and executed.This position is responsible for translating client specifications into prefabricated wall solutions, producing detailed shop drawings, and delivering projects with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.Areas of Responsibility:Ability to design and implement new projectsAbility to implement a well-designed plan using ICE and AutoCAD softwareCommunicate project expectations to all COR Team membersCapable of working independently, prioritizing workload, determining, and adhering to project timeframes and deadlines determined by the Interior Construction TeamProvide planning services which include: Programming (information gathering and documentation); Field measurements; Design development (block plans and detailed CAD plans), 2D and 3D views using ICE Software and AutoCADDetermine project requirements with Sales, Project Management, clients, and A&D firmsAttend weekly Interior Construction Team meetingsAttend client meetings with Sales and/or Project ManagerProduce complete and accurate shop drawings per project requirementsCommunicate issues to the client, Sales, and Project ManagerAssist Sales in presentations and the selling effortPerform self-checks and double-checksFollow the Creative Office Resources Design ProcessAssist in training new design employees as requestedOther duties as requiredThese responsibilities are not designed to cover all responsibilities required of the employee. All duties and responsibilities may change at the discretion of Creative Office Resources at any time with or without notice.Required Education, Skills, and Experience:Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from CIDA accredited school1-3 years post-degree professional design experienceTrained in AutoCADExperience reading architectural plans and schedulesAptitude for detailAbility and initiative to seek guidance and advice to advance training skills on product, design process, and technology.Willingness to learn and take direction with a positive, professional attitude, and implement new product initiativesProduce complete and accurate shop drawings per project requirementsCommunicate issues to the client, sales, and project managerAbility to learn other software programs quicklyPrepared to work cross-departmentallyProfessionalism in manner, attire, and written/verbal communication to interact effectively with a wide range of people both within and outside of the companyStrong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills:Must be able to read, write, interpret, and communicate fluently in EnglishWriting skills must be sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefullyStrong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applicationsGood organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skillsAbility to work accurately to meet deadlines by adapting to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities in a flexible way by working from your own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or proceduresUse analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contextsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring efficiency of projects from start to finishPhysical Demands:Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standingRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingersWork Environment:Work performed in fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and officesEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
