Position Title: Senior Associate, Labor and Employment, IrvineThe Senior Associate position offers a unique opportunity to defend employers in various labor and employment matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage claims. This role encompasses all phases of litigation, from drafting pleadings to managing discovery and conducting depositions. The position requires collaboration with clients and firm leadership to provide strategic legal counsel and manage agency responses. Mentorship of junior associates is also a key aspect, contributing to overall case strategy and execution. The firm values a mature and responsible work ethic while fostering a supportive and friendly environment.Salary Range: $250,000 - $300,000 / Year DOESenior Associate, Labor and Employment Responsibilities:Litigate issues such as wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage/hour claimsDraft motions, pleadings, and legal documentsHandle written discovery, including requests and responsesConduct legal research on employment lawPrepare deposition outlinesAttend depositions, mediations, and hearingsTake and defend depositionsRespond to EEOC and CRD complaintsDraft position statementsCommunicate with government agenciesAdvise employers on HR and compliance issuesAssist with terminations and investigationsProvide day-to-day legal guidanceCollaborate with partners on case strategyMentor junior associatesSenior Associate, Labor and Employment Requirements:Must have 7+ years of experience in defense-side litigation in labor and employment lawMust have experience defending management in litigationExperience with handling discovery, including taking and defending depositionsStrong background in drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documentsExperience preparing and arguing motions and appearing at administrative conferencesJD degreeAdmitted to practice in CaliforniaBilingual with Spanish is preferredBenefits:Medical, dental, and vision coverage with various plan options401K with profit sharing after a 3-month waiting periodLong-term and short-term disability coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA)Unlimited PTO within reasonStandard federal holidays off
