Whether located at Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Norwalk Public Schools, or Fairfield University, our educators work as part of collaborative teaching teams dedicated to helping children thrive.Why Join ELLI?Professional GrowthPaid professional developmentCoaching and mentorshipCareer advancement opportunitiesOngoing training in early childhood education and literacy developmentWhat You'll DoLead a toddler classroom by creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that support language, literacy, social-emotional development, and early STEAM learning.Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families.Supervise and support classroom team members while modeling positive teaching practices.Partner with families through daily communication, conferences, workshops, and family events.Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.Observe and document children's growth and development.Collaborate with teaching team members to implement ELLI's curriculum and approach.Support classroom routines including meals, diapering, toileting, transitions, and outdoor play.Ensure compliance with NAEYC standards and Connecticut licensing regulations.RequirementsQualificationsRequired* Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood EducationOR* Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 12 credits in Child Development or Early Childhood Education* Minimum one (1) year of professional childcare or classroom experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience leading or mentoring classroom staffKnowledge of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS)Experience working with toddlers in a group settingStrong communication and family engagement skillsBilingual Spanish/EnglishOur Ideal CandidateYou are curious, creative, patient, and enthusiastic about early childhood education.
