Job DescriptionJob Title: Respiratory Therapist, Registered or CertifiedDepartment: Cardio-PulmonaryEmployment Status: Full-TimeLocation: Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH)Reports to: Respiratory Therapy DirectorJob Summary/ObjectiveThe Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT)/ Certified (CRT) is responsible for implementing medicalprescriptions for respiratory care, maintaining adequate supplies and equipment, and providinghigh- quality respiratory therapy services. The RRT will assess patients' respiratory conditions, recognizeadverse effects of treatments, and take appropriate corrective actions. This role may also involveoutpatient testing, pulmonology clinic, participation in patient education, working with a team,equipment evaluation, and repair.Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities Administer respiratory therapy as prescribed by physicians. Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, symptoms, and response to treatments. Recognize and address adverse effects of respiratory treatments, implementing correctiveactions as needed. Understand and manage the properties and combustible characteristics of compressedgases. Maintain and manage respiratory therapy equipment and supplies. Apply knowledge of isolation techniques, anatomy, and vital signs measurement (e.g.,blood pressure, pulse, respirations). Participate in patient education and outpatient testing/pulmonology clinic. Evaluate and repair respiratory therapy equipment as required. Document patient care and therapy outcomes accuratelySkills/AbilitiesStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Excellent customer service and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Able to work well in a flexible and demanding environment. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to privacy regulations. Proficient with computers and electronic medical record systems.Education and Experience Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program. Certification:RT/CRT or current MO license in Respiratory Care required.BLS upon hire or within 30 days.ACLS required within 6 months of hire.PALS required within 6 months of hire. Experience: Prior experience in respiratory care preferred.Physical Requirements Ability to perform tasks that require prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift, move, or support patients and equipment as needed.
