Staff Accountant

Job Description High Level Statement of the Role:The Staff Accountant is responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of an organization. Their duties include preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing a company's accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.Roles and Responsibilities:· Reconciling the company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers· Tracking and analysis expenditures· Managing income and expenditure accounts· Generating the company's financial reports using income and expenditure data· Keeping a check on the company's finances based on financial status· Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations· Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the companyManage accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Inventory AccountingCoordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variancesAssist with preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statementsSupport the Controller in month-end and year-end close processManage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsProven working experience in a corporate accounting roleThorough knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresExperience with creating financial statementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close processBack up to weekly direct and indirect payrollSkills to Perform This Role:Interpersonal Skills· Honest and ethical· Able to give balanced feedback· Ability to build and sustain relationships· TrustworthyCommunication SkillsExcellent communication skills in dealing with customers, suppliers, and employeesAbility to communicate technical issuesGood presentation skillsCredibleLeadership SkillsGood organizational skillsMust have initiativeBusiness Skills· Financial/cost management skills· Have a sound business knowledge· Results focused· Ability to meet deadlinesTechnical Skills· Project Management skills· Think and interact globally· Advanced understanding of legal and· regulatory requirementsQualifications:Educational· BS/BA in Accounting and/or Finance· CPA or other relevant qualification is a plusCompany Description When food safety and quality matter, trust the Stik-Pak Standard.
