Senior Acquisition ConsultantAlkanna is seeking a highly experienced Senior Acquisition Consultant to support federal acquisition planning, procurement package development, solicitation preparation, source selection, award documentation, and post-award contract administration. The ideal candidate is a former senior federal acquisition professional with deep FAR expertise, prior 1102 experience, DAWIA/FAC-C certification, and experience serving as a warranted Contracting Officer.This position requires a senior acquisition professional who can provide authoritative guidance to program offices, contracting teams, and technical stakeholders across the full federal acquisition lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Acquisition Consultant will support federal acquisition activities including, but not limited to:Provide expert-level guidance on the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency acquisition policies, and federal procurement best practices.Prepare solicitations for commercial and non-commercial supplies and services for a variety of contract types, including firm-fixed-price, IDIQ, labor-hour, and time-and-materials contracts.Develop and maintain supporting contract file documentation, including evaluation plans, justification documents, option justifications, and contract type determinations.Support solicitation posting and issuance through SAM.gov.Prepare, review, and provide guidance on justifications that limit sources under FAR Parts 6, 8, 13, and 16.5.Support acquisitions using Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), GSA Schedule contracts, BPAs, IDIQs, purchase orders, task orders, and other federal contracting vehicles.Assist technical evaluation teams with proposal or quote evaluations and development of acceptable technical evaluation reports.Perform cost/price analysis for simple to complex contractor proposals, including firm-fixed-price, fixed unit price, labor-hour, and time-and-materials contract types.Prepare cost/price reasonableness reports and related award documentation.Prepare competitive range determinations, award determinations, and award documents.Provide post-award contract administration support, including invoice issue resolution, contract modifications, requests for equitable adjustment, and contract closeout.Assist program offices with procurement package development, including Statements of Work, Statements of Objectives, market research documentation, Independent Government Cost Estimates, and acquisition plans.Recommend acquisition strategies, contract types, and competition approaches, including full and open competition, small business set-asides, sole source, WOSB, SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), and other acquisition strategies.Required QualificationsMinimum of 20 years of federal acquisition experience.Comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).Former 1102 series federal government employee at the GS-15 grade level.Prior experience as a warranted Contracting Officer for a federal agency.DAWIA Level II or III and/or FAC-C certification.Demonstrated experience preparing solicitations, acquisition plans, justifications, evaluation documentation, award documentation, and contract administration files.Experience supporting procurements through SAM.gov, GWACs, GSA Schedule contracts, IDIQs, BPAs, purchase orders, and task orders.Experience performing cost/price analysis and preparing price reasonableness documentation.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise program offices, contracting officials, and technical evaluation teams.Desired QualificationsExperience soliciting and awarding construction services below, at, or above the simplified acquisition threshold.Experience soliciting and awarding Architect-Engineer single-award contracts, multiple-award contracts, and task orders under IDIQ contracts.Experience preparing contract terminations for commercial and non-commercial awards.Experience supporting acquisition efforts for defense, health, homeland security, or other federal civilian agencies.Active or recent federal security clearance preferred, if applicable.Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a former senior federal Contracting Officer or senior 1102 acquisition professional who can independently guide complex federal procurements, advise program offices, develop compliant acquisition documentation, support evaluations, and ensure contract files are complete, defensible, and audit-ready.Job TypeFull-time, part-time, or consultant arrangement may be considered based on candidate availability and contract requirements.LocationRemote, hybrid, or client-site support may be required depending on contract needs.
