Shipping/Receiving - Packager

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual for our Shipping/Receiving - Packager position. This individual will help ensure our products are packaged and shipped with precision, following established policies and procedures as defined by Ampco Pumps. A self-starter with experience is desired, but we are willing to train the right candidate.Duties/ResponsibilitiesPackage pumps, provide weights and dimensions of shipments, label shipments, and complete shipping paperwork.Communicate regularly with Shipping Supervisor regarding the need for packaging materials and determine appropriate and sufficient packaging to avoid damage in transit.Utilize forklift or hand trucks to move material from packaging area to staging area for shipment.Arrange freight on the dock to increase efficiency when loading trucks and work with receiving to handle loading and unloading of all trucks.Be able to use hand tools such as drills, saws, etc.Complete and maintain all required paperwork, exercising strong attention to detail.Follow all safety policies and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.Other duties as assigned.Required SkillsMust be able to perform and use mathematics daily.Must have strong communication skills.Must excel in accuracy and efficiency.Ability to problem solve and prioritize tasks.Ability to work well alone and with a team in a fast-paced environment.Ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions and comprehend shipping paperwork.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk and reach above shoulders.Ability to lift/move parts and/or packages of various sizes, up to 50 lbs.Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma/GEDPrior warehouse/manufacturing experience preferred.Forklift certified a plus.
