Technical Operator / Machine Operator

Technical Operator (Machine Operator)
Set up and operation of automatic or semi-automatic centerless grinders, surface grinders, lathes, and lappers as required. Operation of testing or data collection stations used in the production to verify produced parts are within the specifications. May be responsible for actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances.
Work schedule: Regular schedule will be 1st shift (6:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday-Friday) OR 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm Monday-Friday) after training on 1st shift.
Primary job responsibilities: Setting up manufacturing equipment to specifications on router or on drawing. Operating machines to complete assigned tasks. Monitoring and performing first-level maintenance of shop equipment and machinery. Performing adjustments as needed. Performing routine inspections of manufacturing equipment. Performing data collection using micrometers and other measurement tools as specified in processes. Meeting or exceeding quality goals. Maintaining a clean work area.
Requirements include:
High School diploma or equivalent
2-3 years of experience operating automatic or semi-automatic centerless grinders, surface grinders, lathes, and lappers
1-2 years of experience setting up automatic or semi-automatic centerless grinders, surface grinders, lathes, and lappers
Ability to run machines to complete tasks
Ability to read micrometers
Experience with reading drawings
Ability to monitor and maintain equipment and machinery
Experience performing routine first level inspections of manufacturing equipment
Experience performing data collection as specified in process, making adjustments as needed
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to keep work area clean and organized

CNC experience
