Finance Manager/Controller

A great UHY client is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager / Controller to perform and lead accounting, financial reporting, and business intelligence activities within a highly collaborative and mission-driven organization. This role will oversee financial operations, regulatory reporting, treasury activities, audit coordination, and executive-level reporting while helping enhance the organization’s analytics, dashboarding, and business intelligence capabilities.The Finance Manager / Controller role is based in Farmington Hills, MI, requiring approximately 2–4 days per month onsite. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity offering exceptional work/life balance, company-paid benefits, pension contributions, bonus potential, and the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors.Finance Manager / Controller ResponsibilitiesOversee financial reporting, general ledger, budgeting, and month-end close activitiesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance analysisSupport treasury operations, cash management, and cash flow forecastingCoordinate external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance activitiesPrepare and review financial statements and regulatory filingsDevelop executive-level dashboards, business intelligence reporting, and data analytics toolsTranslate financial and operational data into actionable insights and trend analysisPrepare reporting materials and presentations for executive leadership and Board committeesSupport internal controls, process improvements, and financial policy developmentPartner with external vendors, stakeholders, and third-party service providersSupervise finance staff and support operational continuity within the departmentFinance Manager / Controller RequirementsInsurance accounting, reporting, or insurance controllership experience requiredStrong analytical and business intelligence capabilities requiredCPA preferred5–8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experienceExperience with financial reporting, audit coordination, and regulatory complianceExperience with executive-level reporting and Board presentationsExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools strongly preferredAdvanced Excel and financial analysis skillsStrong communication, collaboration, and executive presenceAbility to thrive in a collaborative, highly visible environmentUHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
