With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.JOB SUMMARYThis position is responsible for operating welding and manufacturing equipment to build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product. Weldments vary in type, size, and direction and are performed on a variety of production lines.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into placeAdjust welding leads, current, feed, and gas to proper weld configurationsCuts and forms metal parts and components using hand tools, torch or welding equipmentWelds components in flat, vertical or overhead positionsAccurately operate and read measuring devicesAssemble and weld various metal parts togetherProperly position material/parts to be weldedTrain and work in various areas of production in response to production demandsFollow verbal and written work instructions including ability to read drawing printsAttention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standardsMaintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsWork in both team and individual settingsOther duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.High school diploma or general education degree (GED)3+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment, preferredExperience with sheet metal fabrication, punching, shearing, cutting, forming, and assemblyCERTIFICATIONS/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to MIG (Wire Feed Welding)/GMAW processesAbility to weld light and heavy gauge sheet metal; materials include carbon black steel and stainless steelFormal training and certification in weldingKnowledge of measuring instruments, hand tools, and pneumatic impact wrenchesAbility to read, comprehend, write, and communicate instructions and messagesAbility to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
