Sanitation - 3rd Shift

Position Description:The Sanitation Laborer will maintain sanitary condition of equipment by following effective sanitation methods to meet regulatory requirements, with a safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety-culture for the benefit of the company and its employees.Primary Responsibilities:Maintains sanitary condition of equipment by disassembling equipment and cleaning to regulatory standards with a use of high pressure water @ 140 - 160 F; following proper chemical allocation and cleaning applicationsMaintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and neededAdhere to all break and lunch requirements for the positionLearn and execute 8 steps of sanitizing equipment, work area, and other requirements for a quality operationFulfill inspection requirement of equipment after sanitation process is completeMust understand the corrective action processSupervisory/Management Responsibilities:Not ApplicableRequirements:Able to speak English preferredPrevious related experience preferredKnowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferredAble to work night shift; overtime and weekends as neededEffective communication skillsLearn and understand the three main areas of contaminationPhysical Requirements:Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds occasionally throughout an 8-hour shiftAble to tolerate hot/steam and wet conditions 8+ hours per dayAble to work around and with chemicals including: alkaline detergents, acid and chlorine liquids and caustic soapsStanding, walking and climbing 8+ hours per dayTraining Period:Minimum six months meeting all above requirements; up to three years
