Apply by Mar 15, 2026Structural EngineerHouston, TxBased on Experience and Knowledge$/HrFull TimeJob DescriptionPNA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to support the analysis, design, and delivery of commercial and industrial structural projects. The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers while taking ownership of defined design tasks, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and producing high-quality engineering deliverables in compliance with applicable codes and standards.This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world structures, fast-growing project types, and a clear pathway toward professional licensure and technical leadership.Key Responsibilities Perform structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation systems for commercial and industrial facilities Design structural systems including: Steel frames, braced frames, and moment frames Shallow and deep foundations (spread footings, mats, drilled piers, helical piles) Industrial equipment foundations, pipe racks, platforms, and slabs Apply governing codes and standards including ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, IBC, and local amendments Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and technical memoranda Develop and review construction drawings and details using AutoCAD and/or Revit Coordinate structural designs with architectural, civil, geotechnical, and MEP disciplines Support submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction administration activities Assist with project planning, scope development, and schedule coordination Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and reviewers Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes Work toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Stay current with evolving codes, design tools, and industry best practicesRequired Qualifications ✓ Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ✓ 3–5 years of structural engineering experience in commercial and/or industrial projects ✓ Working knowledge of U.S. design codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC) ✓ Experience with structural analysis and design software such as: ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, RISA, STAAD, or similar ✓ Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus) ✓ Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills ✓ Preferred ✓ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification ✓ Exposure to industrial facilities, warehouses, data centers, energy or utility-related structures ✓ Familiarity with construction-phase engineering supportWhat We Offer ✔ Competitive salary and benefits (medical/dental/vision) ✔ 401(k)/retirement plan with company contribution ✔ Paid time off + holidays ✔ Mentorship from licensed PEs ✔ A collaborative team culture and diverse project opportunitiesOr send your resume to info@pnatechnical.com
