About The RoleWe’re looking for a Plant Operations Intern to support initiatives focused on identifying, measuring, and reducing material waste on key production assets. This internship provides hands-on, project-based experience working directly with machine operators, support staff, and operations leaders to make waste more visible and drive cost-saving and efficiency improvements.What You’ll DoSupport the setup of waste tracking or sampling methods on key manufacturing assetsWork closely with machine operators and support staff to understand processes and waste driversAnalyze and categorize waste streams to quantify impact and identify trendsHelp make waste-related costs and improvement opportunities visible through data and reportingDevelop recommendations for process improvements and, where appropriate, assist with implementationSupport continuous improvement efforts focused on material efficiency and cost savingsWhat We’re Looking ForPursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsInterest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and cost reductionComfort working with data, observations, and hands-on analysisOrganizational ValuesSafety – Teamwork – Customer Focus – Ownership – Initiative – CreativityAt Hoffmaster, our Organizational Values and strong sense of Integrity guide how we work and engage with each other every day.
