Rooted in history yet thoughtfully evolved for the modern guest, The Heathman blends classic elegance with contemporary comfort in the heart of downtown Portland.The Housekeeping Manager is a hands-on, service-driven leader responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort throughout the hotel. This role plays a critical part in delivering a refined, luxury guest experience by leading the housekeeping team with precision, care, and a commitment to excellence.The Housekeeping Manager partners closely with the Rooms leadership team to create a seamless and elevated environment that reflects the sophistication and artistry of The Joseph.Requested TasksOversee daily housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spacesSupervise, train, and support Housekeeping team members including Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Public Area AttendantsEnsure all spaces meet The Greenleigh’s standards for cleanliness, organization, and presentationConduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality and consistencyManage team scheduling to meet operational needs and occupancy levelsMaintain inventory of linens, supplies, and equipment; ensure proper stock levelsMonitor productivity, labor costs, and departmental efficiencyAddress guest requests and resolve concerns promptly and professionallyMaintain open communication with Front Office, Engineering, and other departmentsEnsure compliance with safety standards, cleaning procedures, and company policiesSupport onboarding, training, and development of housekeeping team membersRequested CapabilitiesPrior experience in housekeeping or hotel operations requiredPrevious supervisory or management experience preferredStrong understanding of housekeeping operations and cleaning standardsExcellent leadership and team development skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentEffective communication and problem-solving skillsProfessional, service-oriented demeanorAbility to work flexible hours including weekends and holidaysAs part of the Makeready collection, we proudly offer a variety of thoughtful benefits and perks for eligible team members including accommodating PTO/PTO exchange, medical/dental/vision benefits, maternity/paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care & 401k, student loan repayment program and a wide range of additional ancillary benefits.
