Mechanical EngineerLocation: Quincy, MA Pay Rate: $63.96/hourAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced autonomous subsea systems and vehicles within an Autonomous Maritime Platforms environment. This role will work cross-functionally to design, develop, and support next-generation unmanned undersea technologies from concept through production.This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge autonomous maritime defense platforms while gaining exposure to full lifecycle product development.Responsibilities to Anticipate / ExpectSupport design and development of mechanical systems for autonomous subsea vehicles and platformsDevelop mechanical designs from concept through production releaseCreate and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering documentationSupport prototype builds, assembly, integration, and testing activitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineeringParticipate in design reviews and engineering change processesApply GD&T principles to mechanical design and documentationSupport product lifecycle data management using PDM systemsContribute to innovative design solutions supporting autonomous and unmanned maritime systemsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline5+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree with 3+ years experienceU.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred / Desired ExperienceDesign & ToolsMechanical design experience in product development environmentsSolidWorks (MCAD) experiencePTC Windchill (PDM) experienceDomain KnowledgeUndersea, maritime, or subsea engineering environmentsAutonomous / Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (AUV/UUV) technologiesEngineering FundamentalsGD&T knowledge and applicationHands-on prototype assembly and development experienceSoft Skills & MindsetCreative problem solving and concept-to-production design mindsetStrong collaboration and communication skillsCommitment to continuous learning and professional growthWork Environment100% Onsite – Quincy, MA9/80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)Security / Work AuthorizationU.S. Citizenship required due to nature of defense workWhy Join CPIWork on advanced autonomous maritime and national security programsCompetitive hourly pay with strong contractor advocacyDirect recruiter support and long-term career partnershipAccess to leading defense engineering customers and programsStreamlined onboarding and contractor support experienceOpportunity to work on next-generation autonomous and unmanned systems US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT: This assignment is a US Government Contract which requires all applicants to be US Citizens.
