This role is focused on transforming complex, tightly coupled systems into a modern, scalable, and well-governed platform. You’ll work closely with engineering and product leadership to define architectural direction, improve system resilience, and enable faster, safer delivery across teams. What You’ll DoLead architectural strategy across a multi-layered platform, defining clear system boundaries and integration patterns.Break down complex legacy workflows into scalable, loosely coupled services with pragmatic migration paths.Design systems that meet high performance and scalability expectations, including capacity planning and optimization strategies.Embed reliability principles into architecture, including fault tolerance, observability, and continuous improvement from incidents.Drive API-first and event-driven design approaches to reduce system dependencies and improve extensibility.Ensure systems are built with automation in mind, leveraging modern CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and testing practices.Incorporate security and compliance into all layers of the architecture, including identity, data protection, and auditability.Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical decisions with business priorities and long-term platform health.Must-Have ExperienceStrong track record of architectural leadership and making sound, practical technical decisions.Experience defining system boundaries and decomposing large-scale applications into manageable components.Deep understanding of performance engineering, including load handling, latency optimization, and scaling strategies.Experience with reliability engineering concepts such as monitoring, alerting, and incident feedback loops.Proven ability to design secure systems with compliance considerations built in from the start.Nice-to-Have ExperienceExperience defining architectural standards, governance models, and decision frameworks such as ADRsFamiliarity with event-driven systems and messaging patterns (e.g., Kafka-style architectures)Background in data architecture, including data governance, lineage, and quality managementExposure to designing systems that safely integrate AI capabilities, including controlled workflows and monitoringTechnical Environment Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Microservices and distributed systems architecture API design and integration patterns Event streaming and asynchronous processing Observability tooling (logging, metrics, tracing) Infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelinesWhat Makes This Role InterestingYou’ll play a key role in shaping the future of a large-scale platform while balancing speed and long-term sustainability. This is a hands-on leadership role where you can influence architecture at scale, modernize legacy systems, and help build a strong foundation for emerging technologies including AI-enabled workflows.
