Program Coach Internship

This is a remote unpaid internship. Interns can be based anywhere in the world. The position is fully remote.Applications will be accepted until September 1Internship period: September 10 - December 15Who we areWe remove barriers for high school students who want to effect change in the world by connecting them to innovative, high-impact projects across 9 global nonprofits and original ámaxa initiatives. Unlike traditional volunteer platforms, ámaxa acts as a social impact concierge. We personally match members to a high-impact project, a remote team, and a coach. Over 3 months, each team collaborates remotely to design and execute fundraisers, campaigns, and other ambitious initiatives. Through our online platform, teams utilize project management tools built to solve the specific challenges of executing ambitious initiatives across several time zones and project types.For example, our teams have planted trees across three countries, created a prototype for an English-teaching platform for Palestinian students, and raised the funds to sponsor 7 children’s full school tuition in Liberia. Our current teams are conducting outreach to raise funds for medical supplies for Ukraine and setting up a Mental Health First Aid program in their community.We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the United States.What we’re looking forWe are looking for undergraduates with a demonstrated passion for social impact and an eagerness to gain skills both in project management, outreach, and mentorship. This is a role designed for undergrads seeking meaningful and diverse experience in the nonprofit sector.In this role, you will act as project coach for a student impact team at a time which are each developing various ways to solve a problem proposed by one of our partner nonprofits. These solutions include organizing fundraisers, creating tutoring curricula, working on deploying Rasperry Pis and more. Each student impact team consists of 3-6 high school students who may be based anywhere in the world.While acting as a coach is a volunteer position within our organization requiring a commitment of 2-3 hours a week, joining our team as a Project Coach differs in its weekly hourly commitment, the number of teams managed, the focus on gaining a project management skillset, and the scope of your teams' fundraising projects. As Project Coach, you will work directly with the ámaxa team to report on your teams' progress and work in coordination with ámaxa's COO to make your teams' fundraising efforts a success.ResponsibilitiesManage and lead a high school teams for the duration of three monthsConduct organized weekly remote meetings for each of your teamsAttend bi-weekly Roundtables with ámaxa's core teamDelegate tasks to team members, hold members accountable to deadlines and keep teams organized in order to ensure efficiencyWork in coordination with our COO and Operations Manager to ensures teams' successCoordinate communications between your team and the partner nonprofitRequirementsDemonstrated passion for social impactExcellent communication skills, with a focus on composing professional emails and confidently conducting meetingsPrevious experience in managing a teamBonus: Leadership experienceBonus: Fundraising experienceBonus: Interest in education, specifically high school educationTime Commitment:3-5 hours per week
