Top Required SkillsLSIT (Land Surveyor In Training) certification preferred Prior professional experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for land surveying or civil engineering purposes Strong verbal and written communication skills Position OverviewUnder the supervision of senior staff or licensed survey professionals, the Land Technician / Senior Land Technician will support land surveying, mapping, right-of-way documentation, and land records activities for utility and infrastructure-related projects.The role involves a combination of:Field survey support Office-based mapping and drafting Title and boundary research Right-of-way documentation Coordination with survey crews and land teams Key ResponsibilitiesSurvey & Field SupportPerform routine work as part of a survey crew Conduct precise survey measurements using conventional and advanced surveying equipment Interpret legal descriptions of real property Research, analyze, check, and adjust survey data Support boundary determination through title and evidence research Operate survey vehicles and equipment as required Mapping & DraftingPrepare maps using field notes, office data, and title research Create: Plot plans Profiles Road cross-sections Topographic maps Contour maps Special drawings Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and mapping activities Review and verify mathematical computations and survey calculations Right-of-Way & Land DocumentationPrepare legal descriptions of real property Support acquisition and disposition of easements and fee properties Assist with permits, leases, quitclaims, and land-related documentation Secure signatures and permits Conduct preliminary investigations of encroachments Prepare reports and correspondence related to land matters Survey CoordinationCoordinate field survey activities Lead field data collection efforts when required Direct survey crews and support field operations Take field notes and oversee survey tasks performed by crew members Required QualificationsExperience in land surveying, civil engineering support, or land/title work Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in a professional environment Ability to interpret survey data, legal descriptions, and engineering drawings Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in office and field environments Physical ability to perform field survey work Preferred QualificationsLSIT certification Prior utility, infrastructure, or right-of-way experience Experience directing or coordinating survey crews Familiarity with boundary research and title documentation Civil Engineering or Survey Technology education/training or equivalent experience
