Accountant

We’re partnering with our client, a well-established financial services firm in Chicago that is looking to add a high-potential Accountant to their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–4 years of accounting experience who is looking to build strong technical accounting skills and gain well-rounded exposure across general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable.This role is ideal for someone who wants to continue developing a strong accounting foundation in a fast-paced, collaborative, and detail-oriented environment with strong long-term growth potential.What you’ll do:Support month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsMaintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completenessAssist with financial reporting preparation and internal reporting packagesSupport accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordinationAssist with audit requests and supporting documentation as neededPartner cross-functionally with finance and operations teams to resolve discrepanciesContribute to process improvements and strengthen accounting workflows and controlsWhat they’re looking for:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA required (or actively pursuing with a clear path to completion)2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in corporate accounting or public accountingStrong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principlesExposure to month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and/or AP processesStrong analytical skills with high attention to detailAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindsetWhy this role:Broad exposure across full-cycle accounting, including AP, close, and reportingStrong foundation-building opportunity for long-term career growthHands-on experience working closely with experienced finance professionalsReputable financial services environment with strong stability and team cultureThe Equus Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and takes pride in maintaining a diverse environment.
