The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring, growing, and aligning the department with the college's strategic plan. This role involves fostering collaboration within the department, overseeing all aspects of predoctoral education in prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, and digital dentistry, and leading the comprehensive care clinical education, including the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program. The Chair will also be tasked with mentoring faculty, ensuring compliance with clinical requirements and accreditation standards, managing educational grants, and maintaining budgetary responsibilities. Strong leadership, management, and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.Applicants for the Chair position at the company's Department of Reconstructive and Rehabilitation Sciences must have a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree from a CODA accredited dental school or foreign equivalent, with advanced training in prosthodontics or restorative dentistry being preferred. Board certification or eligibility in prosthodontics or restorative dentistry is also desirable. A minimum of 10 years' of teaching experience in dental education, a history of leadership and supervision, and experience in clinical education administration and accreditation processes are required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of academic and clinical excellence, be eligible for licensure or a faculty dental license in South Carolina, and be qualified as a full professor.
