Workforce Recruitment and Retention CoordinatorPosition Summary:The Pacific Northwest Hospitality Training Program is seeking to hire a Coordinator who will serve as the primary point of contact and public-facing representative of the program. This individual will be the first person prospective participants and incumbent workers engage with when exploring training opportunities. The role will focus on the recruitment, engagement, and retention of both prospective workers and union members participating in our workforce development programs.The Coordinator will also support the Executive Director in building and maintaining partnerships with employers, labor partners, and community-based organizations to strengthen outreach efforts and expand program impact. This is a community-facing role designed to engage directly with workers, employers, and partner organizations throughout the region. This position reports to the Executive Director.Primary Responsibilities:Outreach and Recruitment·        Develop outreach campaigns and oversee development of culturally responsive materials (print, digital, social media) in collaboration with UNITE HERE! Local 8 and employers.·        Implement outreach and recruitment campaigns to engage prospective participants, incumbent workers, and community partners. Monitor participation and enrollment outcomes, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and adjust strategies as needed to improve results and meet program goals.·        Develop creative and responsive outreach strategies that leverage community events, current events, sports and entertainment activity, and union engagement opportunities to increase program visibility and participant recruitment.·        Build and maintain relationships with community partners and actively participate in outreach events to recruit prospective workers and increase program awareness.·        Provide functional supervision to Ambassador team ensuring their tasks align with short- and long-term outreach goals.·        Deliver high-quality customer service to prospective participants, incumbent workers, union staff, employers, and community partners through responsive, professional, and relationship-focused communication.PartnershipsBuild and strengthen partnerships with community-based organizations, employers, and labor partners to support hospitality workforce needs.Identify and report on emerging community and industry needs while developing new partnerships aligned with the hospitality sector.Develop and maintain referral pathways for prospective workers seeking placement into union hospitality roles with participating employers.Coordinate job fairs, hiring events, and resource-sharing opportunities in collaboration with employer and community partners.Represent the Training Program at relevant internal meetings, industry events, and external community engagements.Case ManagementMonitor participant progress related to enrollment, attendance, retention, and program completion.Provide workforce case management support and maintain accurate, timely records of participant interactions and services provided.Connect participants with community resources, including transportation assistance, public benefits, supportive services, and workforce development programs.Promote survey participation and coordinate support services that help reduce barriers to successful training completion.Foster participant accountability, self-advocacy, and professional growth while maintaining clear and appropriate professional boundaries.Other·        Report out to Executive Director, Training Program Board, Local 8 staff members, and others as needed.·        Other duties as assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  As the Pacific Northwest Hospitality Training Program is in a start-up mode, duties, responsibilities, and activities will change and be adjusted as time progresses. Minimum of four years relevant work experience in education, workforce services, human services, or similar areas.·        Proven track record of taking full ownership of project lifecycles and driving initiatives from conception to execution.·        Experience supporting participant success in an educational environment.·        Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and teleconferencing software such as Zoom/Teams.·        Experience with record management systems.·        Demonstrated understanding and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion practices.·        Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse audiences; able to present to both small and large groups, answer questions, and provide program information.·        Experience with regional labor market and hiring trends, as well as statewide trends in workforce development and/or workforce education.·        Knowledge of best practices in supporting at-risk populations of potential and existing students.·        Knowledge of best practices to support historically marginalized communities and individuals.Desired Qualifications·        Persons with lived experience around racial inequity, oppression, and institutional and/or systemic racism.·        Experience working with immigrant and/or refugee communities.·        Experience working with communities of color.·        Bilingual is a plus. Salary: $70,000-$80,000 annually. Benefits: Employer paid health insurance, dental/vision, and pension. Vacation, holidays (11), sick, personal time, and a winter break closure at the end of the calendar year. Ability to commute:Office is located at 5030 1st Avenue S, Suite 201, Seattle, WA 98144. Our training locations are throughout the community.This role requires frequent in-person work in the community. Reliable private transportation with appropriate insurance is required.If you are seeking a remote first job, then this is not the job for you. This position is meant to be in the community and at employer locations working directly with union members and prospective employees. Working remote on a limited and irregular basis will be an option based on the schedule and commitments. The remote work schedule will be worked out with the Executive Director. Schedule:Monday-Friday with some pre-arranged evenings and weekends. 40 hours a week.
