The Oracle Cloud ERP Functional Specialist serves as a senior business systems analyst responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing enterprise financial systems within the Oracle Cloud ERP environment. This role focuses on understanding business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and translating business needs into functional specifications that support effective system solutions. The specialist works closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to implement and support Oracle ERP financial solutions, particularly within the Procure-to-Pay process area. The role also supports system implementation, testing, data conversion, reconciliation, and ongoing production support to ensure reliable and efficient financial system operations. A strong understanding of financial processes, Oracle ERP functionality, and business process improvement is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Analyze and document current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement within financial and procurement operations.
Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional design specifications for Oracle Cloud ERP solutions.
Serve as a functional subject matter expert within the Procure-to-Pay process area, supporting Oracle Purchasing and Oracle Payables modules.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to design and implement ERP solutions that meet organizational needs.
Formulate and define system scope and objectives based on user needs, industry standards, and business requirements.
Develop functional design documentation for conversions, interfaces, reports, and extensions.
Provide knowledge transfer of business requirements to development teams to support system configuration and development activities.
Assist with system implementation activities including data cleanup, data conversion, reconciliation, and validation.
Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliation activities within the Procure-to-Pay area.
Review design specifications developed by other analysts and provide feedback to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
Assist with the development of business cases, solution recommendations, and supporting documentation such as white papers.
Participate in system testing activities including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation, and defect resolution.
Provide application support for business users and assist with troubleshooting system issues.
Facilitate communication between business and IT teams to ensure alignment and build trusted working relationships.
Support training initiatives and provide guidance to users on new system processes and functionality.
Analyze emerging business patterns and recommend system or process improvements to support evolving operational needs.
Requirements
Extensive experience performing business analysis within enterprise financial systems environments.
Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and implementation support.
Demonstrated expertise with Oracle Financials, including Oracle EBS and Oracle Cloud ERP.
Deep functional knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay process area.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Purchasing and Oracle Payables modules within Oracle Cloud ERP.
Experience implementing and supporting Oracle ERP Cloud solutions within the Procure-to-Pay domain.
Experience supporting data cleanup, data conversion, reconciliation, and system validation activities.
Experience supporting financial month-end and year-end closing processes within ERP environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business process improvement skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
Experience reviewing technical and functional design documentation.
Experience providing production support for Oracle EBS or Oracle Cloud applications.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
Experience working with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Experience supporting ERP implementations in public sector environments is highly desirable.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
