With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.We're seeking a skilled Gas Measurement Technician to support field-based gas measurement operations based out of Artesia or Carlsbad, NM, with a preference for candidates located near Hobbs or Jal, NM.In this role, you will perform meter inspections, data collection, calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of gas measurement equipment. You'll work independently and alongside experienced technicians, following established procedures and safety standards to ensure accurate and compliant data. This position offers hands-on field work and continued skill development in gas measurement systems.What You'll DoPerform field-based gas measurement activities, including meter inspections, calibration, data collection, and routine maintenanceVerify meter accuracy and ensure measurement systems are operating in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirementsCollect, record, and submit measurement data, field notes, and documentation accurately and on timeAssist with installation, inspection, and troubleshooting of gas measurement equipment and related instrumentationIdentify and report measurement discrepancies, equipment issues, or safety concernsMaintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in proper working conditionCommunicate field findings and work status with supervisors, operations personnel, and team membersPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in metering, instrumentation, or process control strongly preferredMinimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience with flow measurement and instrumentation operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshootingExperience with EFM/flow computer software (e.g., ROCLINK, PCCU, Test-It)Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations, including AGA, GPA, API, and relevant BLM/COGCC requirementsBasic computer proficiency, including email communication, data entry, and use of mobile and laptop devicesValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordWhat We OfferCompetitive compensationMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurancePaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement and professional development supportWork Schedule & TravelFull-time, field-based position following a varying work schedule of 8-16 hours per dayFlexibility to work overtime, on-call rotation schedule, extended hours, weekends, or holidays as requiredDaily local travel to field locations is required, with occasional overnight travel depending on assignment and workloadAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and/or inclement temperatureOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
