Ultrasound Tech Location: Cooperstown, NY Agency: Ambition 24Hours Pay: $4,221 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Vascular Ultrasound Sonographer Contract Industry: Healthcare / Health Services Job Category: Medical / Health Allied Health (Sonography / Vascular Ultrasound) Location: Cooperstown, NY Job Summary Client is seeking an experienced Vascular/General Sonographer to join its IAC-accredited Non-Invasive Vascular Lab. The sonographer will perform a full range of general and advanced vascular ultrasound studies, support interventional radiology when needed, and participate in a shared call rotation to provide 24/7 ultrasound coverage. Department & Role Overview Performs high-quality general and vascular ultrasound exams in a hospital-based imaging department. Works within an IAC-accredited Non-Invasive Vascular Lab , requiring adherence to stringent quality and documentation standards. Interacts closely with radiologists, vascular surgeons, and other providers to support timely diagnosis and patient care. Occasional coverage at other Bassett locations (hospital sites, outpatient clinics, outreach centers) may be required. On-Call & Shift Expectations Participates in a rotating call schedule shared among a team of five sonographers. 1 weekday evening on-call every other week . 1 weekend on-call approximately every fifth week . Call coverage supports 24/7 ultrasound services for emergent and urgent studies. Required Technical Proficiencies Must be independently proficient in all of the following vascular ultrasound exams: Upper and lower extremity venous duplex studies. Upper and lower extremity arterial duplex studies. Carotid duplex studies. Bypass graft studies. Mesenteric artery duplex studies. Renal artery duplex studies. Upper and lower extremity vein mapping duplex studies. Fistula flow studies. Venous reflux studies. General sonography skills (e.g., abdominal, OB/Gyn) and interventional radiology (IR) experience are preferred but not strictly required. Required Certifications & Education ARDMS registration (e.g., RDMS/RVT or equivalent) required or per facility standard. Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology program. BLS certification required. Preferred Experience Prior experience in both general ultrasound and vascular sonography . Experience working in an IAC-accredited vascular lab and/or hospital-based imaging department. Familiarity with EMR/PACS and structured vascular reporting.
