Facility Technician ISacramento, CA 95827OverviewSalary Range $24.50 - $27.50 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage Up to 50% Category FacilitiesDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Director or his designee, the Facility Technician I is shall perform basic and minor maintenance such as painting, floor repair, changing light bulbs, and other preventative maintenance of the facilities and equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below you will find essential duties and responsibilities to successfully perform this job. Reasonable accommodation will be granted, as necessary to perform the essential duties and function of this position.Maintain and make repairs or minor alterations as need to furniture, cabinets, and other equipmentScrape, sand and prepare surfaces for painting or repairingApply finishing to various surfaces such as wood, glass, plaster, stucco, wall boards, brick and cementsClean and maintain equipment and suppliesMake minor lock repairsMake minor repairs and adjustment to plumbing equipment and apparatus (e.g., leak repairs, clean plugged drains, flush sewer lines)Remove and replace fixatures, socket drop cords, switches, exposed wiringAssist with maintenance repair, installation and alterationAdjust and maintain switches, electric motors, fans, heaters, light bulbsClean and maintain maintenance supplies and toolsInstall ceiling and floor coverings, chair rails and baseboardsConstruct office furniture such as desks, chairs, and cabinetsDrive to various locations to perform assigned workAttend meetings and trainings as assignedReport any maintenance or facility issues to supervisorPerform preventative maintenance as assignedQualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent is often required.Vocational training or certification or prior of experience in facilities management, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or a related fieldClass C Driver's License with Clean RecordSKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on building systems and equipment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.Ability to pay close attention to details while performing maintenance tasks and inspections.Knowledge of safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and report maintenance issues.Ability to work well independently and as part of a team to accomplish maintenance and repair tasks efficiently.Understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and pumps.Knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components, including basic troubleshooting.Familiarity with plumbing systems, fixtures, and repairs.Awareness of local building codes and regulations related to facilities management and maintenance.Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment used in facilities maintenance.Basic proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software for work order management and tracking.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
