R&D Engineer
Job Description:This position is responsible for performing new product development, material property and processing investigations to facilitate objectives of plant production and process development.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Focus on chemistry system as it relates to improved plant performance, cost reduction, and optimizationSource, develop, and test new chemistry systems for thermoset compositematerialsDevelop and implement new quality control and R&D testing (incoming, in-process, and finished materials)Assist with raw material sourcingEnsure best practices collecting experimental dataContribution to team GMP, safety roles, and mentoring of level 1 engineersR&D Laboratory equipment operation to produce samples for studiesR&D Laboratory cleanliness and organizationQuality Laboratory testing and optimization studies as neededContribute and participate in knowledge management methods and policiesKeep work area clean and orderlyPerform job duties safely as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Additional duties as assigned by managementQualifications & Skills:Critical thinking and troubleshooting skillsMechanically inclinedMinimum Requirements:Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or other related fieldExperience: 1 year in manufacturing environmentSystems: NoneCambria Success Factors:High attention to detailReliable and punctualDirect communicationSense of urgency in completing workCapable of multitaskingWork well both independently and with a teamSelf-motivatedPhysical Requirements:Work at varying heights, including on the rooftop of the buildingsLift up to 60 lbs. Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaksWear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by CambriaParticipate in daily stretch and flex exercisesWork in an outdoor environment in all weather conditionsWalk up and down steps multiple times throughout shiftBend over multiple times throughout shiftTask Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:Steel toed bootsHearing protectionCut resistant glovesSafety glassesHigh visibility vestHard hatRespirator (employees who are required to wear a respirator must maintain a clean-shaven face in the area where the respirator seals to the skin.)Cambria’s starting salary range for this position is $50,000-$85,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position.
