Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Hazard, Kentucky.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: StepdownDiscipline: RNStart Date: 05/25/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: May 25, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down Unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to work a rotating 36/48-hour weekly schedule on nights.DetailsStep-Down Unit in a regional medical center settingNight shift schedule rotating between 3x12-hour shifts (7p–7:30a) one week and 4x12-hour shifts the following week, resulting in an 84-hour biweekly scheduleMust be willing and able to consistently work the rotating 36/48-hour weekly schedule for the duration of the assignmentRequirementsActive KY or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptionsMinimum 2 years of RN experience requiredDriver's license required; address must match permanent addressTwo professional references required: at least one Charge Nurse or higher, and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last yearAdditional InformationCandidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligibleUp to 7 days of RTO may be considered; all RTO must be submitted upfront and no changes will be accepted after submissionHoliday coverage is required — must work at least one major or one minor holiday per contractTravelers who have worked within the health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to returnTravel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unitAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-708986.
