The EF tutor will provide academic skills and strategies instruction and support to small groups of scheduled students.The Tutor provides individual and group tutoring to students and assists general education students with study skills, organization, work completion, time management, etc.Education: Bachelor’s DegreeSpecialized KnowledgeUnderstanding of pre/adolescent developmentUnderstanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice as they relate to student engagement and opportunityPreferred ExperienceExperience working with pre/adolescents Experience working in a diverse public school preferredExperience working with students who are English language learners preferredExperience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and PowerSchool preferred, but will train the right candidateSkillsDemonstrated aptitude for work to be performedBilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirableStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsCandidates should have a passion for working with students, families, and colleaguesCandidates must be flexible and collaborativeCandidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growthSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.ResponsibilitiesAs identified through the RTI process, students will participate in an Executive Function workshop during an appropriate RTI block at their school. Each school will employ an Executive Function tutor whose role is the following:Administer a screener/informal assessment tool to appropriate students and/or train classroom teachers to deliver the assessment Provide targeted EF instruction during an RTI block with lesson planning and on-going progress monitoring through goal attainment plan Consult with teams and teachers to support EF in the classroomSupports And Skill Instruction Will IncludeAdaptable thinkingPlanning and organizationSelf-monitoring and goal settingSelf- control, impulse control, shifting tasks/transitionsWorking memory, study skillsTime managementWork Environment And Physical RequirementsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
