Intermediate DevOps Engineer

About the ProjectOur client is seeking an Intermediate DevOps Engineer to support and enhance the infrastructure and platforms used by their Solutions Development team. This role exists to reduce operational burden on developers by taking ownership of development environments, infrastructure, and platform reliability. Working across on-prem, virtualized, and cloud-based systems, the DevOps Engineer will ensure environments are secure, stable, and optimized, while contributing to ongoing modernization and automation initiatives. This is a hands-on role within a strong, collaborative team focused on enabling efficient and high-quality software delivery.About the ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will design, maintain, and improve development infrastructure while ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable environments that support the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with developers, security teams, and infrastructure partners to reduce operational friction and enable efficient delivery.RequirementsMust-have:3–5 years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or DevOps-related rolesStrong experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers in virtualized and/or cloud environmentsHands-on experience with hypervisors and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent)Experience supporting development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps toolingWorking knowledge of cloud platforms and services (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)Experience with configuration management, automation, and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)Experience managing SaaS platforms, integrations, APIs, and licensing modelsStrong understanding of patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practicesFamiliarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platformsExperience working in ticketing and change management systemsStrong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, platform, and application dependenciesExcellent collaboration and communication skills when working with developers and technical teamsAbility to balance stability, security, and speed in a fast-paced development environmentNice-to-have:Experience with disaster recovery (DR), system migrations, or infrastructure modernization initiativesRelevant certifications (Azure, AWS, DevOps, Linux, VMware, etc.)Exposure to environments supporting analytics, automation, or AI-driven development capabilitiesAbout the RoleLocation: Concord, Ontario (Hybrid)Duration: 6 months to start / Start date: ASAPAdditional requirements: Occasional after-hours work may be required to support maintenance windows, deployments, or incident response.Pay DisclosureJunior: 0–5 years of experience — $45–$50/hrIntermediate: 6–9 years of experience — $55–$65/hrCompensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.AI DisclosureWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) or other automated tools to support parts of our recruitment process.
