Receptionist

Join ROADS Community Clinic – East Long Beach vibrant health care team as a RECEPTIONIST and make a meaningful difference to our community’s most vulnerable members. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and enjoys working collaboratively. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 1. At least one year of solid experience front office experience in a medical office. 2. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; able to be self-directed. 3. Able to perform multiple clerical functions. 4. Valid California Driver’s License, a good DMV record, transportation available to meet job requirements with vehicle insurance (if necessary). 5. Physical examination which indicates that the employee is able to meet the physical requirements of the job including: Lifting/moving/transferring up to 20 lbs. prolonged sitting, frequent walking, stooping, bending, twisting, standing 6. Skilled in Microsoft Office, data entry, electronic medical record and use of business email. 7. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. TRAINING, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE 1. Current BLS/CPR certification 2. MAB, Pro-ACT, CPI training or within 60 days of hire. RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL DESCRIPTION 1. Receives incoming calls and routes them to appropriate personnel. 2. Greets, directs and interacts with clients, visitors, physicians, and peers. 3. Ensures clients requests are received by appropriate personnel. 4. Ensures clients sign in. 5. Maintain PTP schedules and coordinate provider office visits. 6. Order lunch for clients on program days. Maintains receipt for daily food order. 7. Verifies Medicare/Medi-Cal and Current ROADS insurance coverage for PTP visits. 8. HMO authorization requests are given to Department Assistant. 9. Collects co-pays from clients prior to PTP visit. 10. Maintain prescriptions referrals and refill authorizations for PTP. 11. Check clinic patients in. 12. Schedule clinic patients on scheduling system. 13. Reconciles the co-pays with the super bills and gives a daily account of super bills and co-pays to department Assistant at the end of the day. 14. Check office supplies, forms and brochure inventory. Order or make copies as needed. 15. Assists other ROADS personnel with clerical duties such as faxing (and checking incoming faxes), mailing gift cards. 16. Routes incoming mails, distributes correspondence and other materials to unit staff daily. 17. Post announcements/flyers as needed. Maintain current bulletin board. 18. Files charts for certain providers. 19. Other duties as assigned.
