Mechanical-Electrical Assembler

*POSITION SUMMARY:* As an Mechanical-Electrical Assembler I you will build and test precision air quality sensors.​ This is not assembly line work; you will be involved in the full build from the beginning through final test and certification of a variety of products.​ You will work closely with the engineering team, providing feedback for continued product design improvement.​ The successful candidate must be able to follow assembly instructions, standard operating/quality assurance procedures, and function well in a manufacturing environment. *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:* · Build up precision mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies · Perform final assembly for precision instrument · Utilize small hand-held tools such as a screwdriver and caliper · Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications · Perform quality work checks to assure the product meets quality standards utilizing established procedures · Inspect, test, and calibrate new and existing instruments using established procedures · Follow detailed process travelers and document any relevant production test data · Contribute to process improvements and assembly procedures within the relevant assembly areas · Interface with engineering to resolve more difficult issues Critical Success Factors: · Ability to keep a manufacturing area and lab organized and efficient · Ability to multi-task · Ability to read, interpret and follow basic written and verbal instructions · Flexibility to work overtime as business needs dictate · Comfortable with schematics and mechanical drawings · Experience and desire to work in a collaborative team environment and proactive engagement in innovation / problem solving, and all aspects of communication. *Required Skills/Experience: * · 3+ years of experience in production assembly. · Proficient with precision hand tools such as screwdriver and power tools such as drill press and belt sander · Must be self-starter with ability to work with minimum level of supervision · Must be authorized to work in the United States *Desired Skills/Experience: * · Hands-on experience in manufacturing environment, non-production line · Experience using set-up documents and operation procedures for manufacturing specifications · Comfortable using business applications (email, spreadsheets, etc.) *Education:* · HS Diploma or equivalent *Physical Demands: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
